    Welcome Colin,

Maybe your kilted brigade could invade the men's garment district at lunch hour and give the designers a clue

Thanks for your words of encouragement Ron

the folks in the fabric shops in the garment district are getting to know me a bit too well these days - was there for several hours over the past few days picking out fabrics for my next kilts - bought a tweedy brown that i am 1/2 way thru already & am heading back next week for a forest green & to look for proper tartans...

    I am soooooooo addicted!!!

p.s. we are doing an invasion on a restaurant in chelsea tonight - so far we have a reservation for 15... shoudl be interesting to see how many show & the variety of kilts

i will post pics tomorrow (once i learn how to on this system!!!)

Welcome to the board! It amazes me that there are not more kilt wearers in the big cities.

And I am impressed, made 5 of your own kilts already! I am still struggling to finish my first one, too little time.

io have a feeling there are many more kilt wearers in nyc - just a matter of getting the word out & getting them to come out of hiding. a friend sent me info on the New York Tartan Week in early April. that will have kilts galore on the streets of the city. I am gonna have to get busy with a true tartan kilt for teh occasion.

as for having made 5 already, my mther was an amatuer seemstress way back when - well at lest until i kicked her off her machine & was doing better work than she ever did. Have done suits, shirts & pants and various other garbover the years. Kilts are dead easy to make (so far...)and a lot more fun!!!
