For you Yanks on board, if you have never heard the Last Post, look it up. Used the same as Taps, but in my opinion, is much nicer(no offence intended). We need a smiley on here who salutes.
I second those sentiments Moosehead. if there is one piece of music that will bring me to tears (well other than Celene Dion singing "my heart will go on" and that one make me cry because she didnt go down with the ship - but i digress) its Amazing Grace played en masses on the pipes. it is the most touching & heart wrenching piece there is. Gives me chills from head to toe & even have the hairs on teh back on my neck raised just thinking about it

Wish I had a recording of the massed pipes and drums/bands from the Longs Peak Highland Festival playing Amazing Grace. They start out with a lone piper and build to usually 4 pipes and drums group with one band (it's been the Marine Corps 29 Palms band the last few years). Does get to you

Our little town has just 'upgraded' from a small WalMart to a Super WalMart...
Only been to the new Super Insane WalMart twice so far...both times the chashiers asked if I'd found everything. Both times was kilted of course. Both times I responded with, "I couldn't find the kilt section, do you carry kilts?"
Both times the Navajo cashiers looked back with a blank stare.
Got me to wondering...what would happen if all the guys on this board that live near a WalMart, and all the ladies on the board that live near a WalMart, went to their local WalMart kilted and asked the managers if they carried kilts.
Not that we would even want to consider the quality of a WalMart kilt if one were ever made....but it would be nice if word of the requests at least floated back to WalMart corporate and they had to ponder how to get Chinese children to sew up kilts....
Latest thing at my new SuperWalMart is gang-banger clothes. Went up to a lady in the gang banger section of the store and said, "Excuse me, I've just been initiated into the Vista Avenue Vandals and I was wondering if you carry my gang colors?"
Another blank look....

Talked to my daughter and her roommate, both of whom worked for Wal-Mart in the past; the overhead music at the local store is not under local control. It is control out of the main office in Arkansas.
So the pipe music was a sign from above. I hope and not from down below.
