I have some, and can definitely recomend them; the over the knee socks are very well made, I imagine the rest of their product is of similar quality.

I actually bought some of their thigh high. With my big legs, they only come up a little past my knee, allowing for a nice turnover. They're great for a casual kilt sock.

I didn't see anything there that would float my boat.
Anyway... I wouldn't want to wear anything that would make my feet point inward and my knees knock together.

Check out Defeet.com for quality ankle socks. They are also available in your local cycling stores, REI or MEC. They have all kind of designs.

Yeah, 95% of what they stock is "Frilly" stuff; you have to spend some time wading through "cutsie" to find the plain stuff, but it is do-able. The way I figure it, socks is socks. they've got socks in all lengths, from "booties" (and smaller!) all the way up to a "Great Whites" sock that is 200" and "scrunches" all the way up to the top of the thigh!!
The over-the-knee tube socks are perfect for casual wear; You can pull them up, or push them down, whichever you like. Don't let the picture fool you; on my legs a double foldover brings them down to the top of the calf, then I choose to scrunch them down.
OTK Tube Socks
...and they come in a ton of colors, a fact that should appeal to a crowd concerned with color-coordination:
Royal Blue
Hunter
Dark Red - OUT OF STOCK
Grey
Navy
Black
White
Tangerine
Natural
Teal
Dark Brown
Red
Lavender
Walnut
Persimmon
Charcoal
Another product that intrigued me is their "O Marled" Socks , but I'm up in the air about whether they would look like a "guy's sock" in real life; streched tight on thicker legs might make them look right, or it might not. ...and their colors are limited

Thanks for that detail Iolaus,
I was looking at those two too, but they said size large fit to size 11 shoe, which I'm assuming is a woman's size 11. I'm a guy's size 11.
What size shoe do you wear? Are you forcing it to fit? Thanks,

I wear a size 13, but with tube socks, that doesn't matter, you make the heel yourself. On the "O Marled", I don't know; I should've tossed an order in for one pair, just to check, but I was trying to ease up on the plastic at that point.

Oh, Wow! Anyone think I should send for a pair of the green/white socks to go with my Celtic Football Supporters Club kilt?

Answers, in a sealed envelope please and addressed to......
