I also highly recommend USA Kilts. Their semi-traditional kilt is a full 8-yard kilt made of 11 ounce poly viscose. It comes in numerous tartans and is made to your measurements. Workmanship is first rate as is customer service:

Stillwater Kilts sells a heavyweight wool Black Watch kilt for only $159.00, and their standard kilt (which also comes in Black Watch) isn't bad for only $80.00. Both kilts only come in one length. Customer service is very good:

    I hope this helps.

    First Kilt

Thank you, gentleman, for all the help.... I opted for the Blackwatch semi-traditional kilt from USAK (also picked up a "Rob Roy" sporran). Again, thank you for the wisdom bestowed.

Welcome to the board, John. My brother-in-law was stationed at Kaneohe (sp?) around twenty years ago when he was with the USMC. You'll get lots of good advice here. How much are you thinking of spending?

I suggest kilts...and lots of them. Family tartan if you can afford it, but any will do.

oh, don't forget the belt, buckle, sporran, hose, ghillies, sgain, dirk, flashes....
