Regardless of the location of the seller, these kilts are made in Pakistan or other developing country. Stillwater and many other companies use offshore labor. This subject has been thoroughly discussed here in the past, and I don't want this thread to erupt into another discussion about sources.

 Huh? What are you getting so defensive over? You're the first person in this thread to mention source; we were all encouraging you! Hell, we're interested too!

Pardon me if I sounded defensive. I certainly didn't mean to, I was just afraid that we were heading into the "real vs. bogus" argument again and wanted to try and head that off. I'm a laid back guy and don't want to argue or ruffle anyone's aprons.
I did order the kilt mainly because I knew that lots of folks on the board would want to know about them, that this guy had a lot of them that he was eager to move, and that if they were a reasonable deal that many here might want to take advantage of it. No one else had mentioned them, and as the title says...someone had to take a chance. I'll give you a full report with pics when the item arrives.

Anyone know if these kilts on Ebay have a traditional fit (ie. a rise up to the "natural waist") or if they are more contemporary (ie. around your hips). Can't beat the price and 80% wool is close enough!

After checking that link, I noticed that they also offered "custom" tartan kilts at a good price (100$ for a 80/20 polywool and 185$ for a pure wool kilt), so I asked to them if they could do special tartans just as my "Valencia" (see my avatar), or any other tartan that we could bring to them, and they told me that the minimal quantity would be 6 units and the delivery time would go for 10 weeks. Now I am only waiting for the definite prices.
Maybe it will be just a "casual" or "lower quality" kilt, but at least they seem to be much more cheaper or flexible than all the other's I've asked to about making a kilt in such "ultra-rare" tartans.
So, I'll wait for the final opinion about the kilt that you will give me, and then,...any volunteers to ask for a kilt in the Valencia tartan...?

Or for this design I made and it's still not named?

...let's give time to time!

While I'm not going to bite on the Valencian tartan, your idea made me realize that I might be able to get 6 friends together who wear kilts occasionally to go in together to get a Maryland state tartan.

When in doubt about an Ebay seller, click on the numbers that indicate the feedback score and look at the feedback stats.
Click on the "5970" and you'll see that he has 99% positive feedback, 649 positives in the last month and only 5 negatives.
Then read the neutral and negative comments to decide if there is a pattern (late shipping, damaged merchandise, hidden fees) or just the occassional mistake or flaky buyers.
That should give you pretty good idea of what your seller is like.
