    Don't know how I managed to miss this thread until now... I unwittingly made a comment elsewhere that The Xmarx tartan would make a particularly dandy pair of trews. Not all tartans would be suited to it. IMHO. I think I would prefer the trouser style to the more traditional high waist style so they could be worn with regular jackets... And a local tailor could make them without special knowledge or instructions.
