Similar experience here in Phoenix. Outside of Celtic Festivals or the Ren Fair, I've only seen 2 other men wearing kilts this year. However, last Friday, my chiropractor mentioned that she's told her husband about her kilted patient (me) & there's a gentleman at their church who regularly where's a kilt & then they sighted a kilted man while out shopping recently & her husband says, "Geez, these kilts are popping up everywhere!" (Let's hope he doesn't mean that literally. )

What did you think of my idea of walking through a different Phoenix shopping mall each Saturday morning? I have eight shopping malls on my list. :-)

I know it sounds strange, but I can get some exercise, go for a walk in the nice air conditioning, and get KILTS out in the public a little more.

    I can see it now...

"Really? We were at a shopping mall on the east side this last weekend and saw a guy in a KILT also. They must be getting really popular!"

I agree with Hamish-as a Scot living in London, I'm convinced that thanks to the Act of Union both England and Scotland are better off. OK like all families we have our squabbles-but they are our squabbles. So I would strongly suggest that those who are not British avoid intruding upon such areas-if only on the grounds of good manners.

Hmmm, I've already had two fleeting drive-by 'everyday' kilt sightings this year - one guy in my part of town in a red tartan kilt and a bloke in a nearby village wearing what looked like a caramel Utilikilt. Both in their 30s or 40s I would guess.

And there's me. I must be sighted occasionally.

And this is northermost Germany, remember. Maybe kilts are gaining popularity here too.
