Not yet, but would love to get the Dundee district tartan or the Davis tartan from the Welsh side. Rocky actually found a source for it during his journey to the trade shows not to long ago. Just have not saved up the money yet.
Although now that its come up, my birthday is not too far away....

I don't yet. It's on my short list of tartan kilts to purchase soon. I have a Black Watch kilt with an XMarks on order.
If you asked me a year ago what would be my first tartan kilt, I would have said 'Ferguson Modern' without hestiation.
Seeing all the pics of so many beautiful tartans on this forum has open my eyes to... to, too many choices
The "want to have" list keeps growing but my income can't keep pace
Cheers,

My first kilt was a 13 oz tank in the District of Argyle Modern tartan, this kilt honors three of my ancestral families, the Campbells, Lamonts (Patrick Sept) and the McGregors (Gregory Sept). All of these clans originated in the District of Argyle.
I have an Ancient Lamont 9 yard 16 oz on order. This kilt honors my Lamont heritage, This is the only family (Patrick) I can trace back to the correct geographic area in Scotland (Ayr). I can trace the other families back to Scotland but I can't tie them to the correct geographic area of the original clan. I like to have some personal connection to the tartan.

The family tree has Stewarts and Camerons, so my favorite is my Weathered Lochaber tank.
In many cases, I prefer the regional tartans to the "clan" tartans anyway.

I didn't think you were allowed to jones until the order had been placed?
My next "clan" tartan will likely be a hunting Macpherson to show the colors of my lady's family.
