Alas... I will not be able to make this one. Just too many things going on - but possibly in the new year I may be able to make the trip.
For those that can make it.... Have a blast!

You just never know what you will hear. Folk, acoustic rock, original tunes. I've never heard Scottish. My group plays swing, but we won't be on that night.
It's mostly amatures having a good time.

I see, but isn't the bar actually in Oakville? I'll see what I work up for that night. How many songs doesn on sing while at the mic? Two is the custom around here.

Yup, You are correct, the bar is in Oakville. Thanks for pointing that out - I have corrected the original post.
Two songs are customary. A larger group will usually do three or maybe four.

Rick

The Moonshine Cafe Kilt Night
How many Kilters does it take to make a kilt night?
At first, it took one. A good blues band was playing, and I was enjoying the evening. But as time wore on, I began to think that perhaps no one else was going to show.
Just as I was thinking I would move on, our own scoutniagara showed up guitar and all! It turns out that John is a very good singer, and before the night was over, gave us a sampling of his talents.
John also has a talent for connecting with people. He wasn't there five minutes when he had his Stillwater kilt lifted.
By a guy Must be a gift eh John?
I finally left at around 1:00 AM, and John stayed to make more connections.
Overall, an enjoyable event. The next one is January 6.. Hope to see you there
Cheers,
Rick

Gee, I thought I had a date for the night. LOL ...but HE wasn't my type...I prefer the lassies. I didn't stay long; just long enough to finish my brew. ;) If any others are in the Hamilton/Oakville/Mississauga area, keep in touch, and we'll plan another kilt night. Hey, I'm from Niagara, an hour's drive away, and I was there. Nice to meet you Rick.

My regrets...
Alas, I was unable to make it to Kilt Night. We had a memorial service for my wife's Grandmother that night, and couldn't make both. I will do my best to be at the next! I mapped it out with Google... it's just down the street from my Aunts place!
I'm really looking forward to getting to the next one!
