It is not to be taken literally. You say you are not an english speaker, so maybe this type of humor is difficult to understand, just as our slang terms do not hold their meaning through translation.
I think I understand -- I even understand why some can find it funny -- but I don't joke with killing.

Ladies and gentlemen, so many of you want to take issue with the moderators and how they handle certain threads, but this is a perfect example of a thread that is already taking a nose-down attitude.
What most people took as a joke, Sylvain has taken seriously and has voiced his opinion. Nothing wrong with that, right? As another member has pointed out to me, it's a discussion.
KiltedKnight is also taking part in the discussion and has decided to voice his opinion about Sylvain's opinion.
So let me ask you, do we moderators let this turn into a free-for-all, where nobody wins and feelings get hurt? Or do we clamp it down before it grows worse and knot everyone's knickers with our 'over-moderation techniques'?
I hope this will provide everyone with an excellent example of how things are not always as they seem...

re moderator comment
moderators should moderate.. I think that is the general view.
So far I think the comment of mike has only drawn attention...
Perahps the various posters should just check what they are posting.. could we have an icon or code for "tongue in cheek" or " joking" or similar?
That way the moderators would have an easier job, coping with fewer distressed posters, and WE..the posters would actually be able to carry on discussing things instead of being upset when they are locked....
just a thought....

We do have those. There's a slew of smilies over to the right of the typing window. The simple "wink" icon can work wonders.
