Oops. Somehow got accidentally listed as discontinued. (It's not.) I've just missed our upload deadline, but it will be back online next week!

I was referring to price per yard
Campbell of Cawdor Modern Tartan is just over $90
times 6 is $540, then to get it made into a kilt?
now I don't think this tartan is a very unusual one.
most kilt makers use this as a standard tartan,
along with black watch.

It was nice to see the St Columba and the MacWilliam tartans there on your site . You don't often see them at all.

Nick, this is much easier to navigate to what one is interested in than before. As I am waiting on my Gordon Balmoral from you, I looked a the Gordon bunch. If you are serious about good photos of real cloth, I'd suggest making sure you get at least a full sett of a given tartan in each picture. For example, the 18 oz Gordon modern from Batley is dreadful, and the 16 oz from Marton is nearly as bad. I know it's a monumental task to review all photos for representativeness, but otherwise the customer has to struggle and guess. Generally, Edgar and Lochcarron don't seem to have this problem, although it does show up here and there.
Thanks for your attention to continuous improvement and customer service! Hoping fervently that Kiltstore can beat the projected dispatch date for my tank. I've got 2 HGs to attend.

Where 4 Scotsmen gather there'll usually be a fifth.

I like it. I looked up University, Kerr, and Gordon and there where several to look at and compare.

turpin - I'm disturbed by what you say about not having the full sett for some. I'm guessing that this may be due to the swatch that they send us not being large enough. But that's just off the top of my head. I'll discuss it with the data entry team on Monday. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

Hi Nick,
I can't seem to find the MacTavish (1439) that I am having my kilt made in.
Also the listings for Thomson are all under Thompson (the English spelling - isn't tartan Scottish? ) When I search for Thomson it points me to Thompson - how about pointing to MacTavish as well as it's essentially same name?
Good search though! I wish I had been able to use it last week.

I can't answer why that MacTavish has gone awol until I'm back in the office on Monday, but it will be fixed then. And as a proud Scot born and bred I'm afraid I have to hold my hands up to not being aware that the no-P version was more Scottish, but a quick check in the Edinburgh phone book confirms it's indeed several times more common. The alternative name thing is one of the next big things we're working on. Again, it's mucho complex, with clan septs, tartans valid for multiple surnames, variant spellings, mis-spellings, and sometimes valid arguments about whether one name is the same as another or not, etc. etc. And we'd of course like to get it right. So meanwhile we've installed a somewhat vague but mostly quite useful solution as you've discovered. Watch this space for further improvements!
