Thank you for explaining that. PCS is a much more appropriate name.

Does anyone know the weight of the "heavyweight 100% wool" that SWK uses for that saffron kilt?
Can't find it on the website.
Thanks,
Ron

It has the same feel as a medium weight Strathmore with a less hard finish due to the shadow weaving. A size 34" weighs 3 lbs. 7 oz. (per the usps mailing weight). So my math says somewhere about 11-13 oz. O'Neille

When I bought mine I asked Jerry and he said it was a 13-oz cloth.
(EDIT. Added 9/16) I believe it. The total length for my size 36 is about 7.6 yards. It feels heavier than my 7-yard custom made Gordon, also13-oz.

I'm sure you're a fine man that goes to only respectable establishments, but there are some die-hard Irishmen out there that don't take kindly to the Orange. Yes, I've gone to an Irish pub with Orange on and been hassled about it. Stupid, I know. Not saying anything will happen, but I just want you to know it's a possibility, even if remote.
...but that still doesn't stop me from wearing my Saffron SWK with great pride!!

Isn't there a differance between the Northern Orange and the Irish saffron? Wasn't the saffron léine worn for centuries in Ireland? What's the deal?

I got my SWK Irish Saffron yesterday. It's a beauty. My Irish blood is very happy. Sorry I don't have any pictures - I've been too cheap to buy a digital camera. However my son bought a very nice digital camera for his recent trip to Ireland, and I have it on loan. I'll be setting up a photo albumn of my kilts over the next few weeks using the grounds around the state capital building for the background.

Mine will probably be here tomorrow. Generally, when I order from SWK on Friday, it's here on Monday. Here's hoping.
