I ordered my first UK in July. I had wanted one for a long time but first my parents objected, then when I mentioned it to my girlfriend she almost died and said she wouldnt be seen with me. So the parents haven't disowned me, but the gf is long gone.

I was 37. It was a gift I gave myself after my divorce...had I known, I would have traded her in for a kilt looong before that!

For casual wear, 47 (which is the age I used in the poll). The first time I ever wore a kilt was age 27, borrowed from the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Regiment in Dunoon, badger-head sporan and all.

    Best regards,

    Jake

I got my first one at the Pa ren faire when I was 26 or so. It was definitely a costume rather than a garment so I wore it maybe twice. I started wearing actual kilts last year at age 33.

I started this year at 51, inspired by my 18 y/o son who started at 16.
