I got myself a $20 imitation stag horn from Sussen. I was extremely pleased. The blade is 440 stainless, which in a dagger is very utilitarian, the handle is sturdy and the blade is razor sharp. I could actually use the thing! And my transaction with them went very smoothly. So I say go with the eBay cheapy, but be a little discerning.

My only nitpick with this knife is that the thistle is on the wrong side of the knife. You wear the knife in your right sock, with the badge facing outwards, so when you draw it the blade should be toward your fingers, not toward your thumb. But since you likely wouldn't ever have to use the sgian dubh anyway, this isn't an issue!

I bought one from Knights edge, it was a $5.00 sgian, darn thing is got a 2 in handle and a 8 in blade, all together cost 8.55, but its not anywhere legal in so cal. The Fullerton PD was nice enough to ask me to show him, then inform me because of its double edge and length..i was in possesion of a felony. I surrendered it, i can handle the 2buck knife.

I'm curious as to how the cop asked you about the knife. Was it in your sock and he saw it? Did he have any reason which would have given him probable cause to stop you?
I was stopped by a cop for speeding on my way to an event and the cop never bothered with my sgian dubh. I also didn't bother to tell him about it. This was despite the fact that he was giving me trouble about everything else he could. Not to mention the Cops in that County have a pipe band.
Gist was that I went to court and made him look like an idiot.
He didn't ask the most important question when I said I was a student, which was "what are you studying?"
Law, you t__t! HAHAHAHAHA!

I got my ebay Sgain Dubh today. I was surprised by the weight of the package. The box said Genuine Leather sheath, but I must have gotten the genuine plastic one. Hey, What do you want for 9.99 with shipping. Mine is from China and looks polynesian.

I ordered two from eBay. One is just a tad large... and the other...well what can I say they were cheap. Won't do that again either...

Hello, I got mine yesterday from Sussen. $9 free shipping. plastic. Tight and very sharp. I have no complaints what so ever. Good communication and left immediate feedback instead of waiting for me to leave feedback like some sellers do.
