Notre Dame vs. Purdue
Well, I'm back, I survived, Notre Dame won, and I have a couple of pictures to share.

Here's me, my Uncle Dick, my Dad, and my cousin's husband James, in front of the ND Library. That's my Irish American tartan, Freelander Sporran, and Cavscout sporran strap.

Here's the ND Pipe Band. Got to talk to one of the faculty who is in the band and he was very excited about having this group on campus. They wear the Notre Dame Irish Guard tartan (as they wore originally when both they and the Guard were introduced back in the early 1950s).
Gorgeous tartan.
A few of the band members had their kilts pleated to the green stripe - made it look REALLY neat. I'll try to get another picture of that later on. For whatever reason, the bass drummer was in a solid green kilt.
All in all, attending an ND game is GREAT fun in a kilt. Lots of nice comments, plenty of attention from the ladies, and free beer from various tailgaters.
In addition, it got cold and rainy during the third quarter, and we got a little bit doused. My kilt kept me warm the entire time, and the water didn't even soak through the outer apron onto the inner apron. I looked down at my lap at one point as I was reaching for my drink and noticed that the water had POOLED in my lap on top of my kilt. As a comparison, my dad (who was wearing cotton pants) now has the sniffles.
I'm headed back again for this weekend's game against Stanford so I should have more pictures (though probably not as much attention from the ladies as my wife will be with me this time).
