Sheesh, I just discovered a 'casualty' of the upgrade and I feel really bad about it.
When people (or scripts) register for membership, the vB software sends them an e-mail with a link in it. Some of you will doubtless recall the procedure of having to click on the link, as the final step of the registration process.
Until the new member clicks on that link, they are placed in a usergroup, called Users Awaiting E-Mail Verification. They can log into the forum and read all they want, but until they confirm their e-mail address, they cannot post. Once they click on that e-mailed link, their e-mail addresses are verified and they are then automatically moved into a Registered Members usergroup.
I had developed a method of sussing out the script/robot registrations and would go to that usergroup each day and delete those accounts. The new software has a more fool-proof method of preventing script registrations, so it is no longer as much a priority to check that group each day. Out of habit, I just looked into that usergroup and suddenly saw there was a member in that group that already had 200 posts. Since the members of that usergroup cannot post, how in the world did that happen?!?
At some point in the upgrade process, Kiltedfirepiper's usergroup was changed in the database. And it was a stroke of luck that he only spent two days in that usergroup, otherwise he would have gone even longer without posting privileges.
I've sent Kiltedfirepiper a Private Message to apologize, but I wanted to do it on the open forum, as well. I do hope he will forgive the accident.
While I am on the subject, we do have 6 new members that are stuck in that 'twilight zone' usergroup. If you see your name below, click on the link in the e-mail you received at the time of your registration. Since most of you are using hotmail accounts, look in the junk folder for the e-mail and then whitelist us, so we can contact you in the future. If you simply cannot find the e-mail, click on the Contact Us link, in the bottom-right of each page.

All looks good except the links in the content block at the top right of the portal seem to be busted, things like the articles and stuff don't work. Sorry if this is something you know about.

We're getting stuff put back where it belongs, slowly but surely. I figure if we get everything back together in the next week, we'll have done well.
Some of those links were already broken, prior to the upgrading process, so now it is simply a matter of determining what we are going to keep and what will be dumped off.
