I've worn a kilt lots of places, but never bowling. Of course I haven't laid hands on a bowling ball for over 15 years so I guess that explains why. Sounds like fun though.

Bowling in a kilt is the only way to bowl! The missus and I have been going bowling once a week for the last month or two, and have been having a ball. For some reason, I've got a very highly stylized approach, and really whip my right leg around at the release---my oh my do the pleats fly!

Stories like this are good .. Since I've yet to receive my 1st (or 2nd) kilt, I've yet to wear one out. While I do plan on wearing them out often, I admit I'm a bit nervous about it.

I wouldn't worry too much. If you wear your kilt with confidence, people will sense that. I was slightly nervous on my first kilted outing, but I received nothing but compliments. Now, I honestly don't care what other people think of me wearing the kilt--and I get so many compliments from a wide variety of people.
Kilt with pride!

I was a bit nervous myself. I had read many good stories here on the board, but there are some negative experiences from time to time. I do agree with dragoninterrupted about kilting with confidence...I just let myself relax, have fun, and enjoy being able to wear such a comfortable garment out.
I also had a few witty retorts stored up that I had read here just in case.
