Welcome from beautiful, warm sunny Alabama. OK, it's in the 30's and that's kind of cold to me, but at least we don't have all that snow that you have in your avatar.
Always nice to welcome another highland games competitor.

Thank you all for such a wonderful and warm welcome, I knew this was a good group. The picture I am using for my avatar was taken Dec 05' at a friend's house were we have a small annual competition called Tundra. The caber I am holding was about 19 feet long and weighted about 110lb - 120lb with out the snow and ice on it.
beowulf67 do you get to Ohio at all to compete?

I was going to ask if that might be Tundra! I've heard about those games but never been.
I've never made it to Ohio, yet. I've been to the Western Kentucky games a few times, and met some guys from Ohio there before. I'm hoping this coming year I'll get to compete more and maybe travel to some new places. Which games would you recommend?
Do you ever get down to Kentucky or Tennessee?

beowulf67,
I have yet to do any traveling for the games out of Ohio mainly because of money. The two big games here are the Ohio Scottish Games which is the largest, and brings pros like Ryan Vierra in to compete, and The Great Lakes Medieval Festival in Geneva, Ohio. I have not been to the Great Lakes games yet, but will try to get into it this year. My next step is to go into Pennsylvania and try and get into some of those games like Ligonier and (dare I dream ) someday the Celtic Classic.
