I've driven from Dumfries to Caerlaverock and back again.
I can't figure out how that could possibly be 8 miles. It *felt* like 20-25 miles.
Of course, that was only my second day driving on the other side of the road... in a car with the steering wheel on the other side...
Heck of a drive - but also nowhere near as scary as driving from Glasgow to Oban.

Fantastic photos Alex, seeing Edinburgh from a passenger jet last year was amazing, I can't imagine how cool it is to fly light aircraft. Thanks.

Added a better pic of the Phantom for the benefit of Cavscout and Haukehaien, taken today while the sun shone.

Very nice.....
As a pilot friend of mine used to say about the F-4.. It is just aerodynamic proof that if you put a big enough engine on a brick, it will fly!

So true Splash, that's a fundamental belief in my life sometimes
The Phantoms were great planes. I posted this in another thread but, the Navy was, and probably still is, retro-fitting the Phantoms to become drones that are flown out over the ocean and used as target practice. It may be a wise use of an old plane but I always hated to see them go out and not come back. Such a great, reliable plane.
