Congratulations!
Which SWK did you order? (If I may be so bold.)

I just started off with the plain black SWK. I figured for my first I get used to wearing it and coordinating my style with it. For example making different hose and shirt combinations to wear with it. But yeah just basic for now.
Anyone know the history behind the Irish Saffron tartan? Can Ulster Scots wear that one?

You can wear whatever you want. I prefer tartans, and ones that I am connected to in at least some way - but that's only a preference. Many people here wear all sorts of kilts for no reason other than they just really liked them. The Irish Saffron especially seems to be a very popular item.

Yeah that's why I asked because I like it and it seems to be a popular choice so I wondered about the history of it. Because, like you, all I want to wear are tartans I am associated with (for the most part) I've got a line on some Ancient Pollock that is really cheap, I just need to know who to send it to once I get the fabric!! Any ideas? Will SWK make special orders? I know the one up in PA does but they want me to send them a swatch first so that I'm not sending them crap. I can't remember the name at the moment. Oh well, any other ideas?

Congrats! What did you get?
Last week I got my first kilt as well - an SWK standard Black Watch. I love it. I wore it to my company xmas party and aside from work, have been wearing it almost constantly.
My fiancee said to me last night 'So is that going to be like your new cozy pants?' .. to which I replied 'You know the great thing about kilts is it's like wearing cozy pants all the time .. but without having to wear pants!".
