Keeping the same date (February 2) -- I have another alternative for a venue . . . this past Saturday night I was invited to attend a Burns Night celebration, and I met a guy who is a fiddler in an Irish group that plays at the Tipperary Inn in Dallas every Friday night from 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM. He was an interesting guy to talk to, and it's always fun to know someone in the band.
I also have several folks from the Dallas Scottish Country Dance group who are interested in joining us, and a couple of them have commented that both Sherlock's and the Flying Saucer are establishments which allow smoking. As several of us are somewhat sensitive to smoke, we'd rather avoid it if this is the case. Trinity Hall and the Tipperary Inn are both non-smoking, at least indoors.
Rob / others -- can anyone confirm / comment on the smoking status of Sherlock's or FS?

Hot off the press!!!
Come One, Come All!
The Kilted Great Rob and I had a brief chat earlier this evening and came up with the following:
Date: Friday, February 2, 2007
Place: Trinity Hall Irish Pub
5321 E. Mockingbird Lane, #250, Dallas, Texas
(NE Corner of Mockingbird & 75 Central Expry)
TEL: (214) 887 - 3600
Trinity Hall web site
Time: 7:30 PM-ish
This seemed like a reasonable time to allow folks to get home and not to have to deal with as much traffic getting there, and it gives you the flexibility to grab some grub before you come or eat there. Rob and I are both planning to get there around 7:00 PM or so to try to stake out table space. Feel free to join us whenever.
Live music: ROB GOTCHER BAND
9:00 PM
Rob brings a range of new age & acoustic rock to the stage!
I'm looking forward to meeting those who can come!! (And we'll definitely miss those who have previous commitments!) If you have questions, you can email / PM me or Rob.

North Texas Irish Festival
Having been a recent relocatee to the Dallas area, I didn't even think to check here for kilt nights. Looks like I've just missed the 2nd of February, however I am planning on attending the North Texas Irish Festival!
Perhaps there can be some kind of Xmarks gathering. At any rate, I'll see you there.
