Welcome from Ontario. Having seen Rkilts first hand I think it will be worth saving up for one of his creations (although don't look at his leather kilts, just too tempting). Others have given you good options, I personally own a Stillwater and you get more than your money's worth there. Another option is Canadian Casual Kilts. Whatever you get, just get kilted.

I have just picked up a new Nightstalker Tartan from Stillwater Kilts. Very reasonable price and not bad quality.
