Don't worry too much about not wearing the right tartan. Like others have said, no one is going to be offended if you just find out what tartan you are wearing and then maybe find out a little about whose tartan it is.
I ditto the Hunting Stewart and Gordon. I know a few Chinese friends who wear those with pride.

That's a pretty cool tartan (not many that aren't I know...).
Dig it up, and wear it well...I don't think there is anything to regret.

Excellent responses. They are really helpful a lot! I am learning something new from here, like history on few tartans! All right, I am looking at Gordon, Nightstalker, and Black Stewart at stillwaterkilts.com and Hunting Stewart at ebay.com... Also, thanks for telling me to stay away from sportkilt.com!
Oh, KiltedCodeWarrior, I just attend Rochester of Institute of Technology there.
You guys are awesome. I really appreciate it!

Chinese Scottish tartan
A number of people have been looking for a supplier of the the Scottish Chinese tartan which can only be procured from the Stratmore Woollen Company in Forfar Scotland. An example of the tartan can be seen at my website. The tartan is proving to be very popular. Let me know if you have any difficulty.

from coastal North Carolina.
I can't add anything to the advice already given, other to say there is a wealth of help and information available from this rabble. Feel free to post any other questions.

Welcome to Xmarks from sunny Florida from a Rochester native. Where are you located? We'll get you and my Dad in a kilt together. Safety in numbers you know. And I will plan a trip up with my daughters to make you feel at home.
