I have never seen that version. I was so disappointed in the first cut of it, I never bothered to get it again. I'll have to look into it.

They didn't happen to put out another version of that piece of crap with Mario van Peebles did they? It could use some help as well.

in the making of part 2, they ran way over budget so the bean counters at the studio took over and hammered together that cheese version.

later when he had enough money Peter Davis (one of the co-producers)
had the movie re-cut and added a ton of footage that he had to shoot on his own nickel.

the Renegade Version makes much better sense and fits better with the rest of the stories.
i did see the renegade version, it still didnt make any sence with them being aliens and all

Okay, I have a question that has been bugging me for a long time. Do the standard MacLeod Kilt pins show the clan crest - on a katana?

Does this mean they are moving the story away from the "aliens from another planet" story in the 2nd movie? ( a good move in my opinion)
yeah, they moved away from that after the third and fourth movies, number two was basically thrown aside

    Well that's nice to know.

If they had said aliens had been here in the distant past and bred with humans and somehow the "immortal" gene popped up every now and then, that would have worked better for me. But what they did just threw the whole timeline, and logic, out the window.
Same thing with the third movie where Mario was bricked up for a few centuries. If he's still in there, on earth, alive how did Connor become the Only One in the first movie? It just sucked.

an immortal can be removed from the "GAME" by remaining on Wholly Ground as Duncan McLeod did,
or if imprisoned in such a manner that they are 100% inaccessible.

this is why the immortals the the watchers held captive,
beginning after Conner McLeod's second coming,
kept the game from reaching it's conclusion because the immortals that
they held captive were still vulnerable.

in the Renegade Version the immortals are much older race than mortal man.
with interbreeding with mortal women some mortals gain the moral gene but must died a violent death or it remains dormant.

the immortals were fighting a war for leadership in the distant past,
the strongest were dispatched and scattered though out time by their elder counsel to fight for the "Prize", which is complete rule over the earth.

the immortals do have a measure of power that most would consider supernatural but when they were scattered through out time all knowledge of their past lives is hidden from them.
    although some have pieced together more than others;
this maybe linked to the amount of time they spend with their heads in place.

ok I loved the FIRST AND ONLY highlander movie!!!

I say first and only because the movie is end all be all by itself!
theres a begining, middle and an end!! thats it GAME OVER he won!!

the only reason there were other movies made was because of the cult status the movie achieved!!( read LETS MILK THIS PUPPY FOR ALL ITS WORTH)

the T.V. show was good in its own right because you could acutally take it in context to the movie ( hey all this happened before the gathering)

MVP SUCKED!!! he makes a really crappy bad guy! besides that if you play all 3 movies side by side its the SAME ONE

movie one: powers come on..find girl ....bad guy finds him...bad guy takes girl on a wild ride with her screaming the whole time.....calls good guy to meet at some grand location......fight ....bad guy loses

movie 2 : good guy gets powers BACK...finds girl ect ect

movie 3 good guy thinks he has ALL the power.... finds out otherwise .....bad guy finds good guy....takes SON on wild ride with him screaming the whole time ect ect ect

movie 4 : TWO good guys..one finds girl.... bad guy finds good guyS

last one I saw in theater....THIS one I'll wait till its in the 5.99 bin at wally world about 6 weeks after it opens

edit: the only cool part to me is the fact that Methos will be in this one...he was my Fav guy in the series....that and whats her name...the thief.......when she had long hair!
Irish diplomacy: is telling a man to go to he)) in such a way that he looks forward to the trip!
