All but the Mrs...she has to stay behind to attend a wedding.
No insult intended...quite the opposite as Master P is a bit of a weenie when it comes to camping in cold weather. Hopefully it will warm up a mite before the games! I know what you mean about campground camping, too. Seems I always find the spot closest to the generator / crying baby / barking dog / obnoxious know-it-all (yes..even here in the SOUTH).

Small petpeave of mine: the South, as in the American South, aka Dear Ole Dixie, is capitalised...always. Thank you.
And Thanks for the heads up on Loch Norman. I think I'm gonna try and make the rounds this year, and I hear Loch Norman is a good one!

Well, my schedule got screwed up. I won't be able to make it down for Saturday games due to a scheduled function that I can't miss. As soon as that's over though, I'll head to Charlotte and hopefully be around for the ceilidh on Saturday night and the Sunday games. Anybody still be there for Sunday?

i and my family will be there both days. typically my parents will have a tent set up in the historical section. they usually have a candling making demonstration going. i'm not sure if they will do that this year or not.
which day was the 11:00am meeting at the Wallace tent? it would be cool to do a Xmarks group photo.
some words of warning about camping at the Loch Norman Highland Games: if it rains you will get muddy (that's obvious i know), but the camping area is in a bowl shaped field; so it can get nasty easily, and vehicles have been known to get stuck in that area. ALSO there is poison ivy (or oak) in that area, so watch out! "leaves of three leave them be." it grows in the wooded area and at the edge, you will be safe if you stay in the grassy field.
i got tore up last year. i thought i was immune to that stuff, but your allergy to the urushiol oil increases with age.
see ya at the games!!

I am hoping to make it.
I won't have my Wallace kilt finished yet, though.
A LOT depends upon this weekend's weather.
I am hoping that Anna and the kids will be able to attend too.

THAT is the X Marks gathering.
IF your an X Marker
IF your at the games in question
YOU ARE INVITED and EXPECTED to be at the planned gathering time and place (hopefully at the same time, as that is when and where the rest will be).
