A real work of art. The colours of that tartan go together beautiful. Congrats Hamish.

Sharp!
And, very unusual color harmony...
I know there are a few things better in life that a new strome kilt, but not many. No wonder you're beaming.

...AND...77 kilts?!! Wow! That is truly amazing! That is probably more kilts than the average band has. How long did it take to build your collection?
Do you and your wife have to fight for closet space, or do you have your own special kilt closet?

Hi Mr. MacDougall,
You are right - this is not my first "expensive" kilt (not that I think 8 yard, 16oz, hand-tailored kilts are expensive! I truly appreciate the skill, the experience, the devotion and the time that goes into both the weaving and the sewing of such garments - but I understand where you are coming from!).
Since I have 8 kilts from Geoffrey (Tailor), and a further 17 from TFCK which is part of the Geoffrey set-up, I suppose that is an indication that I 'prefer' Geoffrey's kilts. However, I tend to favour a number of kiltmakers - it all depends upon what kilt I am looking for. As for Kinloch Anderson: I have four of their Breacans, but I have never asked them to make me a full-blooded traditional kilt.
Other traditional kiltmakers I would not hesitate to call upon again include: Alex Scott of Aberdeen, KiltStore.net of Edinburgh, Albanach.com of the USA, Barbara Tewkesbury of the USA, La Maison du Kilt of Paris, and Cornovi of Cornwall.
For the record, I have non-traditional kilts from R-Kilts of Canada, USA Kilts, Freedom Kilts, Amerikilts, Utilikilts, Bear Kilts, Savannah Kilts and, of course, Union Kilts - amongst others. Again, I would return to these whenever I particularly want one of their individual styles.

Hamish, you know there are few things my wife and I disagree on, but one of them concerns YOU.
She thinks you have too many kilts.
I disagree with her.
Wait 'till I tell her about number 77!!
Oh, and yes, it's a lovely tartan, as always - it looks great on you.
