fez yes, tie maybe not
My suggestion is to wear the fez but substitute a solid or subtly patterned or striped necktie for the tartan one. I think that the tie is too busy with the kilt and the fez.
Cordially,
David

You guys do a fantastic job raising money and maintaining the Shriner's Hospitals. Wear the Fez with pride - you have earned the right to wear it!

If, and only if you are appearing with that band, no. If you are going to be there as a shriner as your forum name would have me believe, then by all means wear the fez. It is indicative of your support of and ties to the organization.

Wear it.
My grandfather was a Shriner for decades, so it brings back fond memories when I see one.
Do you get to drive one of the little cars in the parades? :-)

Definately wear the fez, but I'd go with a solid color tie that matches either the red in the tartan or the red in the fez.

No, I am not in the Tin Lizzie Unit or the Minature Motor Unit. I march in the parades with the Highlanders Unit a Pipe and Drum Band. I am new so I have carried the flag, played the snare, tenor and bass (not all at once). I am learning the pipes, I have a set of Shepards. I also am in the Clown Unit and work closely with the kids.
Thank you all or as we say in Florida "y'al" for the input and advice. I enjoy the positive Threads on this site.
