It's EXCELLENT! I'll be hiking in PV kilts in the future, that's for darned sure.

Congrats on joining the kilted hiking set, Alan! I've been kilted on the trail nearly every day this summer (except when there's chain-sawing to be done!) and, as I tell people almost daily, I'll never hike in shorts again unless forced to.

Be careful here Alan. I've been following along /w Andrew's journal. This might be something that is worse than the sail up the coast you've just dealt with. Something like sailing through "The Gate" and coming up on a Shaggy. With a stomach virus no doubt.

Burning Man -- the flat desert surface reflects sunlight upwards. The Survival Guide recommends pretending you're doing a head-stand under the full sun and apply sunblock to exposed areas. The same things with ice and snow.

Sounds like a great trip. Hiking kilted totally rocks!

Fat chance I could keep up with you!

I will do the John Muir Trail before I succumb to excessive Age, someday, though.

That's a beautiful section of the country. Do John Muir proud and wear a kilt when you hike it.

    Andrew.
