Nah, you're gonna be miserable . . . and with good reason. Waiting on a new kilt is worse than waiting for Santa Claus.
Why not find a good place to get a bonnet and wear it while you wait? That's what I did after reading, So You're Going to . . . . That way you can pose in front of the mirror and pretend there's a kilt down there out of sight.
You can also be breaking the bonnet in since most new ones need a lot of work!
Good choice, and congratulations.

Got any suggestions for one that goes well with a kilt but doesn't have a poofy ball, frilly rosette or otherwise *ahem* dainty thing on it? Those all look great on some people, but I ain't one of them.
It's kinda like when the wife and I were picking out my wedding ring... I tried on one with diamonds in it and we almost got arrested because I think they thought we were trying to distract them so we could steal it by rolling on the floor laughing... I ended up with a 15mm titanium band.

Anything from Matt is well worth the wait. This is my tank, purchased from Matt. It's 9 yards on Ancient Macneill, knife pleated.

If you are looking for something historical, one of the hand knit broad bonnets, or even just the repro highland bonnets we sell down on the bottom of this page would work:

If you are looking for a moder modern cap and don't like the balmoral or glengarry, I think a flat cap, sometimes called a driver's cap or a couny cap, looks great with a kilt. Especially a tweed one (I beleive Brad is wearing one with his weathered Henderson kilt in the link he posted in this thread).
