Colin -- many thanks for that last comment, since I'm only 33!
Seriously, though -- you and your wife look grand in the photo. I like the shirt and tie combo -- another sharp way to modernize day wear, INMHO, is a turtleneck with a day jacket.

Leave it up to me to find fault then, but you've already mentioned it. The fuzzy picture. We must see this dapper gentleman and his lovely wife in a better picture. I do hope that you again wear the combination.

Colin,
I guess you might have expected me to be one of those who disapproved of the black shirt/silver tie combination - but, NO! Whilst I would not wear those items myself - at least, not to a wedding - I believe you carry them off to perfection. As has been said by others, that shirt and tie co-ordinate beautifully with the tartan. Well chosen, young sir!
Jill leaves me speechless - she looks stunning (what else) and the two of you together might have stepped from the photo pages of a glossy 'Society' magazine. I mean it!

"I decided to wear my machine sewn 13 oz Lochcarron Weathered MacKenize (from scottishkilts.net) to the weddding instead of the handsewn 16 oz Ancient Watson. I paired itwith my black dress shirt and dark silver tie (which matches the kilt quite well suprisingly)".
You, sir, are a wild man!
Looks great!!

Now you know why I have to try so hard to look good. I will always pale beside my wife

I certainly agree with all of the comments above. I am curious about the jacket, though. Is it a regular sports coat or a kilt jacket? Either way, it looks great in the photo!

It's a charcoal tweed argyle and waistcoat from scottishkilts.net. I made the mistake of trying a regular sport coat in my early days of kilting, and they were way too long.
