OK, I'm expecting to be up there in Binghamton next weekend. Will people be gathering per usual?

Yes, we're meeting at McGirk's on Nov. 10. We'll look forward to meeting you.

I have made concrete plans to attend next weekend's Bingo kilt night. Barring alien invasion or other such unforseen events I'll be there. Today I ordered a wool blanket shirt from Empire canvas Works. It is supposed to get to me by Friday. If it does I'll wear it to McGurks so anyone who's interested can check it out.

It looks like I'm in for this one, too. It'll be good to see everybody.

I used to see Pat Kane from West O'Clare on Saturdays at Paddy's Pub in Binghamton. It was kind of a dive bar but when Pat was performing the place was always packed. I've never seen so many drunken SUNY students all singing in unison. He's a fantastic entertainer. It should be a great time.

All of a sudden, "West o' Clare" no longer has 10 Nov at McGirk's listed on their schedule , so I don't know now who actually IS playing on Saturday. Humbug...!

Should we plan to provide our own entertainment that evening? Btw. can any vouch for the directions given on the pub's website? I'll be coming from NY Rt 72 and Google and the website seem to give slightly different directions.

Right, we'll have fun no matter who's playing! The directions on my website (NOT the pub's!) are accurate. I'm not sure where Rt 72 is, but if you can get to I-17 or I-81 and connect to I-88, it's exit 2 from there. Alternately, NY Rt 12N to 12A East will also get you there....

Galician - NYS 72 is a short highway, way up near the Canadian border. Is that what you meant? I see your location is NYC, which is at the other end of the state.
At any rate, Brian's advice is good. State Route 17 (currently being converted to I-86) will bring you right from NYC to Binghamton. Just take the Thruway (I-84) to the exit for 17. When 17 meets I-88, head east to exit two, cross the bridge and you're there!
If you're actually up north, take I-81 south to Binghamton. It meets I-88 there.
