I cannot comment on their kilts but my PC came from their Ceilidh range and I am perfectly happy with it.

For what it's worth, I bought a 'kilt' from this company about six years ago, although I cannot say it was from their 'Ceilidh' range. When it arrived, it was entirely the wrong size in spite of the label on its plastic bag (!) showing the size I ordered. I 'phoned them and was asked to return it, but they would not send a replacement until they received the original back! A replacement eventually arrived which was again the wrong size and of appalling quality in workmanship (eg: where sections of fabric had been joined, the tartan pattern did not line-up and one of the buckle fastenings had been only partially stitched to the kilt). Again, I 'phoned and tried to speak with the Manager who, even after several calls, was never available. In the end, I returned the 'kilt' for a full refund, which I received quite a while later, but my request for a refund of the two lots of return postage I'd incurred was ignored.
Since then, I have visited their shop on Rose Street and was far from impressed by the quality of their merchandise. Frankly, I would never buy from them, but maybe things have improved in the past six years!

I haven't actually been in their shop Hamish as they were closed when I wondered down that end of Rose St one evening.
The prices have to make you wonder about the quality and provenance though. They may well not be owned by "you know who" (GB) but may get kilts from similar sources.
But you already know my penchant for good customer service and nobody, not even the better quality establishments, should think themselves exempt from responsibility to deliver that!

You get what you pay for, and also remember, unless you are very fortunate in having just the right proportions, NO off the peg kilt will fit, or look as well as a made-to measure one. I for one, would rather have one that fit and looked good, than several that didn't.

I would say that you can't go wrong with one of our proven kilt maker/suppliers
here on XMarks. for the knock about type contact Jerry at SWK and I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Not actually been inside their shop but have been past it.
Cannot speak for their kilts but was pleased with my ceilidh range PC that I ordered from them online.

Hm- seems to be better saving my funds for a less risky deal.
Especially as there are special prices at the moment on tartanweb. 5yard Lochcarron Strome machine stitched for roundabout 130GBP.
Thanks so far for your comments.

I just received one last night via fedex. Purchased off EBay, and including shipping, it only cost me about $100 USD. It's a good five yard kilt, and the pleats have plenty of swing. My only complaint was that I ordered a 44 and received a 42 - well I need to lose some weight anyway to get into my other kilts.

You should post some pics and do a full review. I'd like to know if they have improved since some of these less-than-favorable reviews.
