We're about a 2 hour drive from York.
I can't find it now, but Ron (Riverkilt) did a comparison thread between our Casual and the SK. Not sure where it is, but I know it's out there... Not sure if there's ever been a SWK / SK comparison thread or a SWK / USAK compsrison thread.

Wow small world! My wife is from York. She was born on West King street, and still has cousins in the area.
Say hi to the Harley plant for me!

I wear a 32 - 34" waist kilt. My US Air Force Sportkilt has 13 pleats. My USA American Heritage has 18 pleats. The Sportkilt is lighter and more comfortable in the summer, and for casual wear. The USA is heavier and better in cooler months, and is much more formal. Both have their special place in the closet.

I just recently purchased a works sport kilt. (full review to come after this Saturday's kilt night) but I'll say this much right now, I would rather buy 4 SWK Thrifty kilts than buy a works sport kilt. Period.

Oooh... I was actually tossing around the idea of getting a works SK... I look forward to your review now.

Time flys. I did an extensive comparison of the USA Kilts casual and SportKilts a while back. Don't own a SWK though - just sporrans. I'm a 21 1/2" guy in a 24" world...
Okay, found the old thread http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=17439

I have a solid black Sport Kilt and a SWK thrifty in blackwatch.
I will say that I do like my SK more than my SWK, and I really think it does look and feel better. But I'm also a bit more comfortable roughing up my thrifty as it is cheaper, better for modesty (heavier and longer) and I care about it a bit less.
The SK wrinkles a lot, and bunches up in odd ways when sitting or moving around a lot, but one good tug fixes it all (sewn down pleats are a life saver). The SWK doesn't get messed up as easily, but if it does it's more work to get it looking good.
As for durability, I've noticed more little bits of wear and tear on my SWK than on my SK, and the velcro especially has me concerned.
I'm happy with both, but the SK is the one I prefer. Overall, each is worth what I paid. A USAK casual in fraser hunting is next on the list (along with a UK workman's) but it'll be months before I'm ready, so I can't help you there.
