    A sharp look.

I love it when guys take the kilt and push the envelope to get what they want. Especially when it has meaning for them.

Here's the old guy trying a Japanese Martial Arts move in his Maroon dress model Freedom Kilt....or wait...is he just trying to avoid a Utah rattlesnake....or air out his kilt after um...passing gas....no he's failing at the Hamish Mark II pose...

That looks exceptional! I'm glad you like it so much. There's a saying about knowing the rules before you can break them, and I think you've done just that by putting your own style on the FK; well done!

Looking good. Its always good to remember that all these so called "rules" are really just fashions, and fashions can evolve and be challenged.

    Best regards,

    James MacMillan,
    Sounds good to me!

    RCallan,
You trying to call me a slant eye?
The pockets and pouches work great. I love the slash pockets. The cargo pockets are a nice size, although they could be a bit larger perhaps. The rear welt pockets are a nice addition as well. If you're looking for places to stash stuff, Steve can set you up perfectly ;)

    Alaskan Kilted Guy,
    Thanks!

    Arizona Scot,
Thanks. I think it works well for me, but yes, it's not for everyone. That said, the angle that all these pictures were taken at do make the kilt seem even longer than I think it really is. I'll try to get more pictures later.

    Big Mikey,
Nice to hear from you! I hope you're doing well. I'd like to make it out to a Fraser Valley Kilts night sometime. I went to one Vancouver one, but unfortunately, theirs are on Thursday nights, which coincides with my ice hockey group.

    Riverkilt,
You should see some of my Utilikilts, I had my wife do a screenprint on a couple of them and they turned out great. I'm also having some of our artist friends work on a couple and I can't wait to see how those will look.
Steve told me about your kilt when I placed my order, and I had a look. I think the colour works great, and when I saw yours, I knew I'd be happy!

    Macman,
Thank you for the kind words. It's still all about the freedom!

    Monkey@Arms,
Well, I never said I was fashionable. I just know what I like, and I know (usually) what looks good on me. Erm, maybe that's more like, I know what I feel looks good on me. If I'm happy with it, I'll wear it. Thanks!

    Mike

As I said in the thread on your chocolate brown kilt, you look like you have your hakama on bakward, just joking. I'm having to see this in my mind from
all the comments, so it might be off. I think a long kilt style would look fine for a hakama flavor. Even to mid kalf might look good if the fabric is
a good heavy fabric. Have you thought of trying these kilts with tabi and the sandals, I can't think of the name, rather than kilt hose?
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

    Racer96:

I like the look! It isn't mine, but that only means I'll need to buy my own FK. Whenever anyone gives me guff about how to wear a kilt, I generally remember my own advice: the kilt goes around the waist. I think you've made some great choices with the FK, the R-Kilt and the Union Kilt, they all look stunning. Personally, I'm also really intrigued by the HBC tartan you've got on the way. Man, that's a sharp looking tartan! (Oh, and your boots are kicking!)
