Local Hero is near the top, as is That Sinking Feeling, but the top Scots film for me has to be Gregory's Girl. My DVD even comes with an American dubbed soundtrack for those who have trouble with Scottish!

Umm, lets see Rob Roy, Trainspotting (you're right Colin the soundtrack is great) and Geordie. Geordie is a great little film I caught one night and I am trying to find a copy. I actually found the book on a business trip I was on. It was much better than the movie and was great reading during a long train ride.

The actual title is Wee Geordie (released in 1956) and it's why my Mother made me eat oatmeal for breakfast until I moved out when I was 27!

Thanks! That might help in my movie search!! The book's name is "Geordie". It's a cute movie and gives a new meaning to "Not without my kilt!"
    Thanks again

Tunes of Glory without a doubt.

    I lived a toned-down but similar situation.
Acting CO (Civil Service rather than Armed Services.)
    Passed over for permanent promotion.
    Reverted to second in command.
The new CO and I had differences.
    Mess loyalties divided.
    Full story another time.

    Time to get busy

I have to admit, I have only really seen Braveheart and Tunes of Glory. I enjoyed both thoroughly but Tunes was better. Braveheart is great if you can suspend real history for 3 hours and just watch it as a piece of film. . . not a faulty portrayal of actual historical events. Guess it is time to netflix all these favorites. Maybe that will help me work on my scottish accent.
