I'll be in the "B" group for the highland games and will be competing all day Saturday.
I'm easy to spot, I'll be the little guy

I thought this could use a bump.
BUMP
Anyway, I'll be there as a spectator. They limited the groups to the first 10 to apply and I was way to slow. So I guess I'll actually get to see the festival for the first time!
Who is going to be in town for the Parade Friday evening? We should try to have a kilt night in town somewhere.

I should be there for the parade. I was planning to try to get to the Whisy Tasting, but work got in the way! (Funny how work gets in the way of a little scotch sometimes, eh?) But we will be camping in the area of the Games, so I think a kilt night might be in order. Any ideas for where?

We can have an unofficial whisky tasting. Or two.
I'm not sure where would be good. I'm staying in the middle of downtown so I can pretty much walk anywhere. There is a nice restaurant that I can't remember the name of, because it seems to change every few years. Used to be Italian but last time I was there I think it was a steak house. Anyway, it has a decent bar area. There are several bars and restaurants to choose from.
Will it just be you, or will it be the family as well?
If you like Mexican, No Way Jose's down by the aquarium is always fun. The kilts tend to freak out the staff.

Oh yeah, there used to be a brew pub at one end of town. I think it's still there. FYI

It'll probably be me, the wife, and a few friends (one who will probably be kilted). I know there's a nice little restaurant near to G-P, has a nautical theme with a ship's mast running through it that sometimes has bangers and mash and shepherd's pie.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I don't think I've ever been there

The restaurant is The Ship Pub. It's in the Arts & Crafts area. The band went there last year after the games on Saturday and even played for a bit. I highly recommend it! http://www.shippub.com/
The pipe band will be staying at the Mountain House Motor Inn which is a block away from the main strip in Gatlinburg at stoplight 6. Not far from the aquarium. We will be in competition at the Highland Games on Saturday and would love for anyone to stop by and say hello. We usually have our band camp set up over on the other side of the Highland Dance area in the grassy field.
