Did you turn him over, that's the only way to find out the difference.

    cant win

    but looks sharp
I would agree that one should never wear a bonnet with formal attire, but I do not agree that wearing a balmoral makes you look like a tourist. I've seen plenty of gents wearing balmorals with day/hunting attire (our own kevinkinney, for example) who look very natty.

Ya... This one sounds off kilter to me. But there's always someone waiting around to tell you you're wrong.

Might get myself a bonnet of one kind or another someday to augment my growing collection of flat caps.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I respect your input. I would love to be a piper, but I am deaf and it's near impossible for me to learn a new instrument.

I think that combo looks great, Brother. I certainly hope that "Gentleman" isn't in Reno in a few weeks, my intended outfit would probably send him into fits!

    Advice anyone?

Wow! I wouldn't be able to advise you other than to say that surely if you're comfortable then that's all that matters? Isn't it a little like someone saying you can't wear Levi's jeans unless your cowboy boots are quartertipped? And speaking as someone just looking at your picture, you look fantastic
