Giant Caber
Dear Threadbar, we met the caver of that caber on Friday at St. Andrews, where else of course. Its next trip will be to the festival that my husband, John Macpherson and I put on called Celebration of Celts to take place may 3rd and 4th in Columbia County New York in Chatham. The caber was made from the official Glasgow Christmas, and then debarked and shaped into its present caber like form. It weighs almost 300 pounds versus a real caber that weighs between 70 and 120 pounds, but never the less the caber toss is something to see as a 21 to 25 foot long pole, tapered at one end is tossed end over end, with the athelte standing in a large "clock face" circle. The caber must land with its smallest end at 12 noon on the clock face. Check out our website at www.celebrationofcelts.com Slainte, Annie

Me and the mrs. want copies of the pics.
My daughter would also love to see them, as she wasn't able to come.
