Being a born 'n bred Aussie, with an Australian accent, for some reason most Americans usually open with; "Gee an Irishman in a Kilt, you do look smart!".(??)

About a year ago, I was in Houston for a meeting. I was walking through a mall on the way to meet with Zardoz when a guy at one of the booths asked if I was from Scotland. I turned to him and said, "No, Colorado." The VERY confused look on his face was priceless.

When in Britain, I have usually been wearing a khaki photographer's vest (my briefcase), khaki troosers, and a Tilley hat. People have been known to assume I'm an Aussie, until I open my mouth. "Oh! You're a Yank!?!"
