The place fills up fast on nice days. I would say we should get there early it opens at 12:00 so the earlier the better. They have table service to the beer garden for food, but you have to go to the bar for drinks.

And this shall be for music, when no one else is near; The fine song for singing, the rare song to hear; That only I remember, that only you admire; Of the broad road that stretches and the roadside fire. (RL Stevenson)

You are certainly very welcome to join us for a Kilt Night when you're in town. We've met several times at St. Andrew's, but it seems that the group consenus is that we move around, to sample some of the MANY Celtic (read Irish, I suppose) facilities around here, which welcome kilt-wearing men (and their ladies ), as well as other locales here.
I'm in for that day. I have a photo of myself when I went kilted there last summer somewhere and shall try to post it here.

Let us know when you're coming and we'll plan a night at St. Andrew's to celebrate your visit.

I'm in, and probably the wife as well. Just out of curiosity, is anyone interested in trying to make a crawl of it? Not that we have had the best of luck with organizing pubcrawls. But where there's a will...

Issue or not?
I was PM'd that there seems to be a festival there that day / weekend (Saturday May 24, 2008 and Sunday May 25, 2008 - Czech Slovak Festival at 1:00pm).
Maybe plan B?

Yes, their website confirms that there's a big festival all that weekend, and another event planned for the following Saturday.
Do we want to postpone this until June or make other plans for a pub crawl on the 24th? On the other, could be lots of fun. Crowded, noisy and an oom-pah band, but could be fun.
Thanks to Ben, we found a great place to start one: the Burp Castle...it's a VERY serious for beer-drinkers, a temple in fact. They open at 4 PM on Saturdays. It's in the East Village, so we don't have to crawl very far between pubs.

Crawl might be the operative word if we do that. If there is going to be serious imbibing involved, let me know ahead of time so I can make plans to stay in the city that night.
