I read that parts of Florida are having wild fires because of the drought.

We have had an almost unheard of dry period of nearly 3 weeks! I just don't know how we are going to get our 200 plus inches of rain in, if it goes on like this.

If you want more rain you are certainly welcome to it, we get too much of it here. Some of our water gets exported by tanker ship to dependencies such as Gibraltar to supplement their natural supply.
Jock, you would have missed the heavy downpours, thunder and lightning, which we had here last weekend, but I see from the weather forecast it is your end of Scotland's turn to get some rain tonight or tomorrow while we should be dry here in the south.

It doesn't count as "fishing" if you pick them up off the rocks of the dry riverbed? ;)

Come to Colorado! The trout fishing here is great, especially on the 14er's. The fish from the high mountain lakes aren't big, but are they ever tasty!

Ah rain, we haven't got much of it lately... mostly winds! But the rivers and lakes are starting to look better.

We had been in a drought for a year or so but had one of the wettest April's on record. And have gotten 9 inches of rain in the first two weeks of May. I'll send you some more if you like.

Wow, I don't know how much it rained for you a few days ago, but I can count the number of rain drops that fell on my car. It only rained enough to get the car dirty (the day after we took it to a car wash btw). Like you said it hadn't rained in months, and we go get our car cleaned and washed and it rains. (Perhaps I should wash my car more often).

*Knock on wood* I'm just glad it hasn't hit triple digits yet here. I'm hoping for a good monsoon though. It's been a few years since we've had a really nasty monsoon. I enjoy the storms since we so rarely get them.
