    Could the strap be folded over to the back and stitched or fashioned down in some way. Then a sporran strap with "D" rings on the ends could be passed through the loop created. A sporran strap could be attached to the strap.

    There are probably a number of ways that the loop could be pinned down that would allow it to be easily freed to allow it to be used as greated.

    Just a small thing lads.
    Don't just loop the draw string over the lid button. Twist it once and then lop it over. It gives a very pleasing effect ...It really does make a differance... Trust me

    Some fine work on this page BTW
