At 6'1" and 130 Lbs during my younger time, the kilt fit great. My original is 27" waist 32" hip 27-1/2" length. The higher position of the kilt on my then thin frame made my shoulders appear wider than they actually were. Also, while being lean could make one the target of the local bullies, having the cajones to wear it regularly scared them far more than my muscles.

The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I wanted to get my Father a whole kilted outfit for Christmas. My Mother opposed the idea saying he was too short and wide to look good in one.

We took her thoughts into consideration, and after .3 seconds, rejected them and went forward with our plan.

I think my Dad looks great in his ensemble (OK to be honest he is a little rumpled in this picture but he will get the hang of wearing it )

Kilts are one of the few garments I know of that can look great on a very wide variety of builds. All the way from Willowy (Me) to Robust (Ron).

    Cheers
