Can we get something started with Cafe-Press? Just upload the design, and let them do the printing and mailing. Maybe even send the profits to a Scottish Charity? Just an idea.

I'm not really picky about the exact design of an X-Marks T-shirt but I really hope that a very high quality 100% cotton shirt is used. Too many logo tees use thin, light, crappy quality material and it is really noticeable. I recently passed on purchasing a cool Enter The Haggis T-Shirt simply because the shirt felt like a cheap dime store undershirt. It was a dark blue color but was so thin I could see right through it.

Guys, Let's give Steve a second to breath here okay?

He's still finishing up the cap badges, there is a poll on right now (ending soon) for a tartan run, and he has a lead on shirts and he has his own business to run.

Xmarks is not a commercial venture and Hank has always made it clear that he did not want to have a bunch of stuff for sale. All of the gear that has been sold in the past has been a special order for the members of this forum (not everyone on the web) and has not made a profit for anyone. So while we understand that people would like to see some additional runs of shirts, pins, tartan, etc. we just have to be patient. We're working on it.

As soon as there is info on the direction of the tartan run, or on shirts you'll see a new post in the Propaganda thread. Promise.

Ladies and Gentlemen of the forum,

Please understand that we are working on getting a run of X Marks shirts. We will post a poll to allow everyone to voice their opinions and preferences. But there are some things which we need to finish first.

There is a poll for X Marks Tartan that will end very soon and I will be involved handling getting the orders in, the fabric ordered and out to everyone. I can't handle more than one major run at a time. (And it is a major undertaking to do this).

Here are some of the things which must be resolved before we can think of a run of shirts.

    1) The goal of X Marks items is to offer a few, select items for our members. We will not flood the forum with everything under the sun carrying the name X Marks the Scot.com. You will not see coffee cups, mouse pads, beer can coolers or any other such items for sale.

    2) Anything that we do offer must be of the highest quality. As you have seen with the Clan Badge a good quality product is highly prized and valued far above one of lesser quality.

We have some guiding principals that we will follow.

Any item we offer will be available to any member of this forum equally.
Any item we offer will be of equal quality to every member.
Any item we offer will be the exact same price to each member.

With all this in mind please look for a Poll to express your preference on an X Marks Shirt some time in September 2008.

Thanks for all you do for us, Steve. I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say the time and effort you devote is very much appreciated.

    Jay,

The X Marks dandelion thingie is like a dandelion cap badge like clans have plant cap badges...somewhere the X Marks plant badge became the dandelion. Mine was a gift...think Panache has sported one too, among others. I can't find a picie of one...sorry. Maybe someone will leap to the fore.

    Here you go Ron !

But the credit goes to Dave (Kiltimabar) who provided them for the whole Nor Cal Rabble!

And Ron I'll see your (very nice) custom XMTS tartan vest with a XMTS Varsity jacket and raise you an XMTS cheerleader skirt, complete with amazingly beautiful red headed lass!

    Cheers
