This was the 1st cast outta the mold - a first run. With a well-constructed mold, many inexpensive casts can be made.
I'd like the tree frog to contrast to the handle proper, so I plan to pour casts with green resin for the frog and a contrasting wood-color for the handle portion.
It'd be far more durable than paint since the color would be throughout the object.

I'm impressed Steve! Another great looking piece!
A lot of talented people 'round these parts.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

You REALLY must start marketing these. Even if it's just the handle and the customer supplies his own blade. Just make them set to fit the blades from Atlanta Cutlery and let the purchaser assemble it at home.
...'cause I really would like to get some of these...

I just returned from the post office - sent off two of them. Yesterday I posted one to western Canada.
My plans are pointed in that direction, and working on a website to do so.

I need to interject as a Moderator here.
We are fortunate at X Marks the Scot to have a good number of worthy craftsmen among our membership. We try very hard to balance the interests and needs of our these craftsmen with those of our sponsors that pay for our licenses and server costs. We do have specific rules for advertsiers and I ask people to check them out before taking this thread out of their boundaries.
As a member JS Sanders is certainly welcome to add a link to his website within his signature line and interested parties can contact him by PM or email.
Like all the artists here who follow their muse we wish him success.
Cheers
