Not a first for this forum, but a personal first: adapting the X-Kilt instructions to a reverse Kinguisse pleat pattern. I'm using denim that has a nice selvedge (that thin off-white line) so no hemming, whee! With Bob's Union Kilt for guidance as well as Alan H's indispensable words of wisdom, I marked out 18 knife pleats with 2-inch reveal and 2.5 inch depth.

Here is the center back pleat portion chalked out, showing 2-inch and 5-inch alternating segments, meeting at center back with two adjacent 5-inch segments for the box pleat. This flash photo really washes out the color.

Color is more like it here, basically olive drab I've sewn up half of the pleats and the center box and am calling it quits for the night.

This shot more clearly shows the 9 rear-facing knife pleats, with 9th forming one side of the center rear box pleat. To the right of the box pleat is one of the remaining pleats just tacked down at fell, waiting to be adjusted for fell-to-waist difference and topstitched in place.

More as it progresses!
