I have on occasion had to substitute a small over the shoulder handbag as a sporran and nay a soul ever noticed.

My current favorite sporran is a mountain-man's possibles bag of elk with a wolverine face. Nobody has ever noticed that either.

When the relatives, inlaws (and out laws) were all gathered here for our 50th, one sister-in-law was really fascinated by my sporran. . . . It really is just a purse, such as all men carried in the days they all wore hose instead of trousers. I currently carry a coin purse, saves on the pocket lining. So the small shoulder bag not only makes sense, it comes with a matching sporran strap to boot.

Just remember what Will the Bard said: "He who steals my purse, steals trash."
