Last time I was asked "where are your bagpipes" was by an Asian doorman at the hotel I was staying in Chicago. When I responded "where are your chopsticks" he had the decency to look embarrassed. There were no remarks for the rest of the stay, other than very pleasant greetings as we can and left.

Hahahaha I wish I was that quick. The second most ask question (The Question) I encountered at this wedding I answered with, "Well, I'm probably more comfortable than any of the gentelmen in the wedding party", and left it at that with a smile.

Great Highland pipes, small pipes, penny whistles, and now I'm amusing myself with Uilliann pipes.

All in good time I can say I do.

For now though? The answer is I can "play" them.

Gotta get practicing as much as I can soon!!! Thank goodness there's some good musician practice rooms in our campus music building. I've been taking the chanter there a little but I REALLY need to do so more often.

My son and I are both learning to play. We've been on the chanter for awhile now -- in fact, the kiddo (11) won the novice chanter competition at the McPherson (KS) Scottish Frazier We recently bought him some nice Gillander & MacLeods from another band member, and I have the band's loaner set. So we're working on it.
