If the picture you posted is what the other groomsmen will be wearing, I would rent a black Argyle and 5 button waistcoat rather than a Prince Charlie. And no belt

Whatever you do, Do Not wear any suit, tux, or sport jacket with a kilt. The look is totally wrong.
The reason the kilt jackets in all their permutations are shorter, is two-fold. First, the jacket hem needs to be no lower than the fell (stitched part of the peats). Second, there needs to be an open space for the sporran.
The "bumfreezer" jackets, Eton, Ike, Military Mess Jackets, all look good, for that reason, they come either just to the waist (real, not trousers) or just below it.
A black Argyle with silver buttons and a vest, or a Bramer (Argyle with PC cuffs) in black with silver buttons and vest are very good equivalents for a Tux

$40 from www.arizonakilts.com
Graeme is the shop owner and is a great guy. I've rented from him before in the past. I believe he has an account here on XMarks, but he hardly comes on anymore.

That's a reasonable price, seems to me. I haven't met Graeme yet, but I've heard a lot of good things about him. Spoken with him on the phone.

Buying is always the (long term) less expensive option. That said, and in this instance, I'd suggest you go with the rental option and then shop around for a black Argyll jacket and two waistcoats (one 5-button, the other 3-button) in your size, which I'm guessing is probably a 44 Regular (6ft + 190lbs = 44REG). Head into your local JCPenny's Store and try on a few jackets until you find one that fits, then look for that size in an Argyll.
An Argyll is far more versatile than a Prince Charlie coatee as it can be worn for formal day wear, dressy evening wear, and (with the three button waistcoat and black bow tie) for formal evening events as well.
