Well, Sister Pipesanddrums, how good to hear from you and to hear that all is going well. Your report of the short cut was pretty entertaining as well.
Thanks for the report. I was prompted to look up the Sisters of St. Joseph as a result.

I am so very glad that things are working out for you. You've been in my thoughts and obviously Sister Joan is keeping an eye on you, too!!!

Yeah, its odd how roads near there can go from 4 lanes to narrow gravel in an instant.
I used to like a mall just past the airport when I lived up that way.

The Sisters of St. Joseph sounded familiar when I read that... I wonder if they are affiliated with the Sisters of St. Joseph of Medaille. (I'm not Catholic so I know precious little about this sort of thing).
One of their most famous members is Sister Helen Prejean (well-known consistent life ethicist and capital punishment abolishonist) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helen_Prejean. She's most famous for having written the book that the movie Dead Man Walking was based on.

Congratulations Sister! Community living is a sure way to holiness - just ask St. Therese!
What? No burlap sheets and a log for a pillow? Tsk! Tsk!
Seriously, I'm very happy for you. A whole new adventure!

And they were glad to have that log!!!
You forgot about having to walk through knee-deep snow to get to the chapel, uphill, both ways.
